The Derbyshire village of Carsington is better known for it's reservoir, or as it is called Carsington Water, which was opened by the Queen in 1992. It is Englands ninth largest reservoir with a capacity of 35,412 megalitres.

Our survey here was at a property not to far from the shores of the reservoir. Our brief from the client was that they had plans for creating a further property within the original grounds and that they had been in contact with a loal architect. They had discussed a few different options as to where best to plan for a new build but needed some background data before any serious planning was sought.

Our survey included the extent of the current house, the layout of the driveway serving the property, as well as the garden and areas that had become overgrown. We also included the road edge and ridge and eave heights on the adjacent properties. We completed the survey using our Trimble R12 GNSS receiver connected to Trimble's VRSNow network and our Trimble S7 total station.
